GROWING AND CARE

Blue Fescue generally performs best outdoors in a sunny location with well-draining soil. It can tolerate some variation in light depending on climate and cultivar, but insufficient light may affect its compact form and foliage color.

Water regularly while establishing. Once established, avoid keeping the roots constantly wet, as poor drainage can lead to decline. Trim away dead or damaged foliage as needed to maintain a neat appearance.

GARDEN DESIGN IDEAS

Use Blue Fescue as a compact accent among flowering perennials, along a garden border, in a rock garden, or in a decorative patio container. Its fine texture and cool foliage color can create contrast alongside green foliage, flowering plants, and stone features.
