Seasonal Garden Appeal

Lynwood Gold Forsythia is prized for its vibrant yellow flowers, which typically appear in early spring before or as the leaves emerge. Green foliage provides interest through the growing season, and fall foliage may develop yellow, orange, or reddish tones depending on growing conditions.

Growing and Care Tips

Sunlight: Plant in full sun for abundant flowering. Partial shade is possible, but flowering may be reduced.

Soil: Choose well-draining garden soil. Forsythia can tolerate a range of soil conditions once established, provided the roots are not persistently waterlogged.

Watering: Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil reasonably moist while the shrub establishes. Once established, water according to rainfall, temperature, and soil conditions.

Spacing: Allow room for the shrub to spread. The supplied mature-size estimate is approximately 8–10 feet tall and wide, though actual size varies with climate, growing conditions, and pruning.

Pruning: If shaping is needed, prune after flowering to preserve the following spring’s flower display. Avoid excessive pruning before bloom.

What to Expect

This is a young starter plant, not a mature flowering shrub. Flowering time, annual growth, mature dimensions, and fall color depend on plant age, local climate, and care. The plant may not flower immediately after purchase.
