Planting Instructions

In a well-prepared bed, plant the rhizome just below the soil surface with the bud pointed upright. Space rhizome pieces 6 inches apart with rows 6 to 12 inches apart. Add a thick layer of mulch using hardwood leaves or shredded hardwood bark, raking it back to a depth of 1 to 2 inches before the plants emerge in the spring.
